Happy New Year to our readers! The start of the new year means all things new, coupled with getting over the old. But for our poker enthusiasts, we have exciting news. The first few days of the new year usually kicks off with a number of live tournaments.
Below are some of the biggest live 2018 poker tournaments that the casino industry is thrilled about:
Swiss Championship of Poker
Running from the 01 – 15 January is the Swizz Championship of Poker (SCOP). The event will be held at the Casino Lugano’s poker room. It will feature several tournaments including the Finalissima Le Stelle di Lugano, and No-Limit Hold’em Swiss Championship. In addition, players will be able to enter any of the several CHF100 buy-in turbo tournaments.
Kicking off the event will be the Finalissima Le Stelle di Lugano.
World Series of Poker Circuit Choctaw Durant
The World Series of Poker (WSOP) has been held across the United States, this time it will be held in Oklahoma Durant at the Choctaw Casino Resort. Like the SCOP above, the WSOP is scheduled to start and run from the 01-15 January.
On the agenda are the twelve gold ring tournaments and the buy-ins start at $365 and go all the way up to $1675.
World Poker Tour European Championship
Spielbank Berlin will host the World Poker Tour (WPT) this year. Poker fans can look forward to the event commencing on the 4th of this month. Additionally, the WPT will fuse WPT with WPT DeepStacks.
The WPT Deepstacks buy-in is $1 807 and will form part of the foremost tournament of the poker festival. The name of the WPT champion will be announced on January 8th, the day the last table is played.
The guaranteed prize pool is $602 635, mega bucks to kick off your year!
2018 Poker Tournaments – PokerStars Caribbean Adventure
Ending our poker tournament line up is the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure. PokerStars advised that the poker event will include 31 diverse tournaments. In keeping with tradition will be held at the Atlantis Resort in Nassau, Bahamas.
The event will commence on January 6 and end on the 14th. In addition, to the main event, poker players can also participate in the exciting super high roller $100 000 tournaments. Our sources tell us that this super high roller tournament is what every poker player is going to be gearing up for!
